| | I've always considered myself more of a leader than a follower, but apparently that is not the case in the online blogging world. I only joined xanga after the majority of my friends and relatives had done so and talked me into doing so (remember the original tagline to this blog: I give in...). And now I find myself, like the little online lemming I am, following my mother and my sister-in-law's leaps off the xanga cliff and into another blog site.
Yep, xanga's been good to me, but I feel I've outgrown this starter relationship, and another site will be better able to meet my needs at this time in my life. I figure now's as good a time as any, seeing as how my xanga buddies' post frequency has kinda dwindled off, for whatever reason-- the main reason to stay in this community was our interchange and catching up with one another easily, since we all had xanga sites, but it's been more hit or miss of late so I feel I'll be missed less over here than I would have been at a previous time.
Anyway, so I'm off-- leaving the safe, familiar confines of xanga, where there may have been fewer and fewer comments and posts but at least I could reassure myself that people were reading what I had to say, to the wild, unknown wilderness of another blog, where I may receive no comments and have absolutely no readers (well, except for maybe my mom). But that's what you have to do sometimes-- be brave and go it alone. Right?
I'd love to have you check me out at my new site, here... it's easy to comment, even if you don't have a blog over there yourself. (You may even be able to subscribe to it thru e-mail, though I'm not sure about that part.......) I promise I will still be faithfully checking everyone out over here on a regular basis, so keep updating! And if anyone feels so inclined to leave xanga as well, I'd be more than happy to help talk them thru the transition :)-- I experimented with a blog on a couple different sites before I settled down.
Lastly, if any of you DO or DO NOT want me to put a link to their blog on my site, then please let me know. Otherwise, I've just included those that post fairly regularly. If yours isn't on there, it doesn't mean I'm not still interested in you. :) And if you'd like it there, let me know! And if yours IS there, and you'd rather it not be, then let me know that as well.
Okay, I guess that's it... my long, drawn-out farewell... I never was good at good byes.......
